WHAN A NATURAL DISASTER STRIKES


What are natural disasters?
Natural disasters are for the most part events that occur naturally, but can 
be devastating.

A volcano may erupt without warning, a tsunami ( tidal wave) may occur
and do untold amounts of destruction. 

An earthquake may happen in places where they never have before.

A TRAUMA SCENE AND WHAT IT MEANS

Imagine, you just went to the mall with a friend and had a wonderful time .    You are making your way to your car and this scene is in front of you. What could possibly have gone wrong? Let us explain a trauma scene. When an accident happens, such as above, specific actions are  taken to care for the injured and take them to a place of safety.   Typically, 911 is called and skilled staff arrive on scene to treat  and transfer the injured to the Emergency Room. UNDERSTANDING COMA FOR THE LAYPERSON

  Hi guys, In the image above, a patient who has been in a car accident, is in the hospital. Her sister is visiting and asks the nurse about her progress. She receives negative feedback. Many people are not aware, that patients who are in a coma can still hear. There are situations where patients awaken,  after being in a coma and relate everything that was being said.
